Anyone interested in developing new plugins for the Editor widget ?

Hi,

I am in search for people who are interested in developing Editor plugins. I have already developed a plugin to insert tables to the widget. I need someone to contribute more to it.

Ticket #2394 might be a good ticket to use for the table thing -- I guess the simple pass execCommand passthrough, like we had in 0.4, didn't work very well x-browser, so it might be a challenge to get this working smoothly. And more editor plugins would be most welcome. Not sure whether these would live in dojox.widget or dijit.

Can you tell me the procedures for submitting the plugins ?

We have developed 3 plug ins right now : Insert Table, Insert Smiley, Insert Line.
We are developing a lot more.

Wonderful! So first, make sure you've signed a Contributor License Agreement Then, just file an "enhancement" ticket in trac.dojotoolkit.org, log in as guest/guest, but be sure to mention your name somewhere so we can identify you, preferably in the description where you upload the patch. SVN's patch tool is recommended, but any sort of diff will do. Please include some sort of test. Automated unit tests are awesome, but simple html-based examples are fine. A separate ticket for each feature would probably be best. And I'd suggest factoring them to live in the dojox.widget package.

FWIW, I checked in the horizontal line code to 1.1, so you should be able to do a insert horizonal rule now with a simple toolbar button.

I am only a 3rd rate coder,but I made up for it as a designer, tester, and all around issue flogger. I would be happy to assist anyone trying to add some value to the editor. I am now going to hope I can find binspaul's table plug in.

Is there some forum, or list, where individual widget programmers can meet to discuss this stuff, or has the Editor already become boring, and is not being too actively developed?
