I am a dojo developer with 2+ years experience creating custom widgets and customizing existing ones. I am fully capable working in versions 0.4.2 to 1.1.
My background:
- 17+ years of programming experience
- 11+ years of web-based development
- 2+ years of solid dojo experience: creating custom widgets, etc.
- Experience building Rich Internet Applications since 1996 (plugins@1996 --> hidden iframes@2001 --> xhr@2004)
- Javascript, CSS, and HTML guru
Some recent projects:
FeedHub.com: Drag-and-drop RSS Feed Maintenance (2007 - 2008)
FeedHub allows users to take control of their numerous RSS feeds with an unparalleled level of control. And it does it through an ultra-rich, ultra-modern interface based on dojo. In this project I provided guidance for web 2.0 techniques, tips, and tricks for the more complex HTML, CSS, and Javascript. The layouts are 100% CSS-based so they are extremely fluid and responsive, despite abundant use of rounded corners and shadows. Animations provide positive feedback and much-needed continuity in such a dynamic interface. The pages look and act identically in all major browsers, including Firefox 1.5+, Safari 2+, and even IE 6+. Chris Shipley personally selected FeedHub to debut at DEMOfall 07!
“Snazzy drag-and-drop interface.” -- lifehacker.com
“That thing is slick ... that's the smoothest interface I've seen in a long time.” -- comment on Digg.com

Timedriver.com: Drag-and-drop Calendar Maintenance (2007 - 2008)
My initial role in this project was to create custom widgets, including a visual HTML-based calendar that allows drag-and-drop editing of appointment availability. Its layout is 100% CSS-based so changes in browser window size or font size are reflected fluidly and instantaneously, unlike Javascript-based layouts. Drag operations in the calendar are as responsive and reactive as desktop applications (unlike Google Calendar!) in Firefox 1.5+, IE 6+, and Safari 2+. After finishing this widget, I was asked to stay on and help with the overall project, adding several performance, coding, and visual enhancements. We also successfully completed a complete port of the project from dojo 0.4.3 to 0.9 and then to 1.1.
“Extremely slick.” -- PCWorld.com
“TimeDriver’s interface is where this application sings.” -- bradfallon.com
